Erie Colorado was once a small town known to many Coloradoans as an exit sign off Interstate 25 and one of the last places one would have expected a new Colorado golf community to spring up. Several years later, Vista Ridge has helped put Erie on the map and has blossomed into a pleasant surprise addition to the Colorado golf scene.
Located on the northern edge of the northwest metro area, Vista Ridge is a well-done, master-planned golf community with all the perks that come with that. Of course, there’s the award winning golf club, throw in some nice homes (many of which should win some kind of award), sprinkle in pools, parks, trails and exercise facilities, and you have one of Colorado’s best planned communities.
The course is highlighted by gracious spacing from the real estate surrounding it, and some breath-taking views of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Now under the same ownership group as Plum Creek Golf and Country Club (SE) and Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch (SW), a new membership plan offers playing privileges at all three courses.
As a result of the slowing of the residential real estate market setting in, builders cut back dramatically as well. With Vista Ridge being on the outer fringes of the metro area, this means that the slowed housing has left wide open spaces around the area, mixed with a newer development and great views, this area has proven to be quite appealing to those willing to be a little bit further away from Denver.
