Developed in 1999, Murphy Creek is a Colorado golf community on the eastern plains, just outside the beltway made up by the C - 470 and E - 470 highways.  Since its inception, the golf course quickly proved itself to be a premier public course. One of many honors the course has received is the right to host the 2008 U.S. Amateur Links Championship. While much of the area is developed, large areas outside the immediate area are not, giving the area a somewhat rural feel, despite being reasonably close to the metro area. Conveniently close, but away from it all.

The terrain of the eastern plains provides an ideal environment for this links-style course, as it blend seamlessly with the land. Wide open spaces and the rolling hills of the area were meant for links-style golf, and the course does not disappoint.  The course also features good practice facilities including bunkers, a grass driving range and a large putting green.

The community of Murphy Creek includes amenities such as a community pool and clubhouse and multiple parks. Just a short drive down E-470 from Southlands, a large, modern shopping center, makes the area more convenient than one might think.  The area also enjoys some of the best access to Denver International Airport in the entire region.

This area may be appealing to those who want the feeling of a community, but enjoy the open space around it, and need a reasonable commute to Downtown Denver or other metro locations.
